On November 5, 1941, Joseph Clifford Kane (26 years old) is registered with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry. Before that, he had served as a Sergeant in the Canadian Army with the S.S.M. & S.R for 3 years from 1935-1938. He received his training and education until June 12, 1942. Successively in Toronto, Newmarket, Camp Borden, Camp Nanaino, Camp Niagara, all in Ontario. Then he was transferred to Great Britain, where he stayed until July 3, 1944. After that he went to the mainland of Western Europe.
